Litter for automatic box?

I always use the Tidy Cat clumping litter that comes in a large bucket, because it’s cheap and it works pretty well. I got an automatic litter box, to be specific it’s called an Ultimate Edition LitterMaid Elite Mega. It says to use “premium clumping litter” and lists about 4 more expensive brands. Does anybody know if Tidy Cats works well in it, or if not, what is the most affordable kind of litter that works?

Any clumping litter should be okay. They’re just trying to make more money off of you by getting you to buy affiliated products
