Hamster and cat together?

I have a hamster and might be getting a cat. How can I keep the new kitty from getting at my hammie?
I have heard of ssscat, so does it work?

Nothing works apart from keeping the hamster very safely locked in its cage.Even if the cat ignores the hamster don’t think that he is happy with it and let the hamster out because in one second the hamster will be in the cats mouth.It happened to my friends pet rat.Keep them apart and the cage WELL closed.
